Songwriter seeks singer, lead guitar, bass
I’ve written about a dozen songs that I’d like to work up with a band. The style is kind of folk, indie, bluesy at times… influences include David Berman, Jonathan Richman, Bob Dylan, the Kinks, Ivor Cutler, Nick Drake, Beth Gibbons, Velvet Underground, Mercury Rev. I think the lyrics are strong — poetic, sharp, ironic, poignant, funny (I hope) — but I don’t see myself as a sole frontman. I play acoustic guitar and I have a drummer lined up. I would like to find a singer who could take lead vocals or alternate lead vocals with me, and who I can harmonise with. Also need a bassist who can underpin the band and a lead guitarist who weave around the melodies and fill the gaps with interesting flourishes. Also open to other instrumentation — keyboards, woodwind, brass, harmonica, glockenspiel, feel free to make suggestions!
