'Weird Pop' band member wanted
Amateur Ornithologist is looking for someone who wants to get stuck into an ensemble who are started to get more opportunities.
Ideally, we're looking for someone who is happy to sing backing vocals, and move between keyboard and guitar and some percussion.
And we're always open to working with anyone new who plays brass, woodwind, strings or tuned percussion.
- We practice Monday nights in Gateshead
- Our band has a mix of genders, ages and ND people
- We welcome disabled artists, all ethnicities and genders, and people with a similarly open mind
- Ideally we're looking for someone in their 20s, 30s or 40s
- Some commitment and fitting in with the others is probably more important than ability
- We have most of equipment you'd need already
We have a new album written and a number of festivals booked.
We’ve released 3 albums, played well-attended gigs, had radio play, been well-reviewed.
You can hear our music at https://amateurornithologist.bandcamp.com and I can send you some of the new tracks.
We like Talking Heads, Cate le Bon, The Coral, Wire, Kate Bush, The Beach Boys, Roxy Music, Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno, Field Music, John Cale, Siouxsie and the Banshees.
Message if you have any questions.
