Drummer wanted

We are seeking a drummer for our covers project: We're in our 40s so experienced, mature and not looking to conquer the world.

THE PLAN:

Ideally we'd form a decent covers band - rock up some generic pop or something - a good song is a good song whatever the genre. Needs some pretty strong vocals though and I have some contacts but the band needs to be cemented first before they'll look at us - right now it's me (guitar) and a bassist.

We're looking at basically any pop song that isn't guitar based so no Stereophonics or Kings of Leon covers that have been done to death (AVOID!)

There's loads of references points on YouTube and examples of what we'd be aiming for (like a say a good tune is a good tune):

Sweet Nothing (Calvin Harris) as covered by BeKnight

Locked out of Heaven (Bruno Mars) as covered by The Parade

Papa Don't Preach (Madonna) as covered by Kelly Osbourne

Reason being:

a) punters will know the songs so instantly more accepted and crowd pleasing than original content. Easy to get gigs and perhaps paid work (not essential).

b) easier to practice to and get everyone up to speed quickly and everyone on the same page since we all know what it's meant to sound like (essential for musicians with limited time together for rehearsal).

c) avoids having to write from scratch which takes forever and I've done it, many times - no interest in that kind of slog - just want to have some fun without giving my life to it.

COMMITMENT:

One 2-3 hour rehearsal a week and 1 gig a month. It's all about quality not quantity and the expectation is everyone should turn up to rehearsals knowing the songs so we can play them together, not learning them at rehearsal (practice is for home)

Good drummers are hard to find. We're looking for an experienced drummer who is confortable with switching from regular to half time, who knows when to play (and when not to!) and and get to know the parts. You can make them you're own, the YouTube clips are a guide.

We are in North East Kent which may be a bit of a trek but we can explore meeting somewhere closer to you, if interested.

Thanks,

Drums
