Musicians wanted for folk/Americana/indie project
Hey!
I'm trying to put together a like-minded group of musicians to help me pull together live full-band versions of a set of songs I've recorded for an album which I'm planning to (self) release later this Spring. The aim is to do some gigging - but in a low-key/local basis - it needs to be fun, not wildly stressful.
Influences include Big Thief, Waxahatchee, Alvvays, Weyes Blood, BC Camplight, Boygenius, Perfume Genius, Wilco, Aldous Harding, Japanese Breakfast, Sharon van Etten, Judee Sill, Lankum, Richard Dawson, Joanna Sternberg, Sam Amidon... And so many more, because I'm a big music nerd.
I'm primarily looking for someone keen to sing some backing vocals as well as play an instrument - flexible on what that instrument is! I mainly sing and play keys, but also do some guitar parts (fairly badly). I've a friend who can drum or play bass - but I'd love to scale this up to a 4 piece group with drums/bass/guitar/keys and two or three vocalists because most the recordings have three or four part harmonies in them where I got carried away
If you want to have a listen on Spotify the two latest singles are representative of the rest of the album - https://open.spotify.com/artist/5Kmi0XfJjkzO8rLDcDDlLL?si=NiExnC53Smqm5PEWw-sCPA
And you can message me through here, or find me on Instagram (@creepycrawlymusic) if you'd like to have a chat about getting involved. I've got rehearsal space in S Manchester ready to use.
Thanks!
