Electronic composer looking to meet real musicians :-)
Hi,
I'm Phil, AKA Mentufacturer. I'm a "non-musician", but I've been making electronic music and beats for many years. And when I've played gigs its normally with more experimental / avant-garde and noise outfits. But my personal taste is evolving towards something a bit more easy listening; using traditional music theory to make good old fashioned choons. Even though I still want to make music that's new, experimental and (hopefully) different to everything else out there.
So I'm looking to find musicians to collaborate with. Maybe from jazz / funk / fusion etc backgrounds, who want to get involved in a project to make something that's still weird, but melodic and with a groove.
To hear where I am on this musical journey, and the kind of material I'm working on, check out my latest albums : https://mentufacturer.bandcamp.com/album/grey-gardens , https://mentufacturer.bandcamp.com/album/go-easy-2-deeper-into-sepia or this side project https://ovnilounge.bandcamp.com/
The goal is to figure out how to turn some of this material into a performable live show. And then try to get gigs with it. I'm particularly interested in trumpet, trombone, flute and other woodwinds. A keyboard / synth player. And bass. But actually almost any instrument could be interesting. I've done tracks with everything from live accordion to baglama / saz. If you like the vibe, then get in touch, whatever your instrument.
cheers
