I'm 63. If that's put you off already, great

I'm original New Wave vintage 1977, but mellowed over time.

I've been playing in a Council of Giants for 6 years as rhythm guitar, vocalist and songwriter, and more recently in Skatterhead a cover band for 2.5 years.

I'm looking for committed players wanting to form a band, develop songs together, record and play gigs. Practice nights have to be on a Monday or Tuesday.

I could do solo singer songwriter stuff but it's more for the creativity and the sharing.

Im not into playing the pub circuit.

You could say that this is my mid-life crisis. I don't want it to be my project though and would prefer musicians to each have an equal say.

I've done as much partying as I need, so not looking for stoners, just a vibrant attitude and reasonable ability to stay in tune and time.

If a drummer comes forward we'll go 2-piece White Stripes style, and if others are interested we'll base it on being the best with what ever we've got.

Open to any instruments if the person fits with same vision. But it has to be on a Mon or Tuesday.

Likes

Bowie - everything

Clash - the perfect band

White Stripes (for attitude)

Strokes (Room on Fire - one of fav albums of all time)

The cars- unashamed pop

Granddaddy - Simple and effective.

Undertones - simple and sing-along

Reggae - just about anything

Country - well hell yeah

Dislikes

Craig David - twatty

Sting - Pompous

Phil Colins - way too serious and up his own

New Romantics.. Same as Craig David

This is for serious fun, but an important part of balancing out my life, not for musical excellence and def not to play covers (although one or two choice ones would be fine).

Not to earn £ either, but 6- 12 gigs a year would be great but not keen on pub gigs.

If you get this give me a shout. I've a small PA and all other equipment and car but we'd need a venue to practice.

oh yeah, I'd like it to be loud, but not stupid loud. Hooks and riffs, but not thrash or metal or Djent…and Pop is not a rude word.

Ideal would be Female singer, bass, drum and 2 guitars or 1 guitar and keys
