Looking for musicians/instrumentalists to start new project

Mature (53) bass player seeking new musical challenges. I've been involved with purely covers bands in the past and want to look into the possibility of collaborating with like-minded musicians and instrumentalists to create interesting original music. My influences include New Model Army, Fugazi, Tool, Soundgarden, The Clash, The Ruts, Firehose, Victims Family.

I like the idea of making music with interesting rhythms and textures, swells and crescendos, interplay between all instruments to carry the melody. Specifically, I have been looking to start something in a kind of post-rock/prog-rock etc style, taking inspiration from bands such as There's A Light, Black Narcissus, Silent Island and Mogwai.

Initially, at least, I would see this as a writing and recording project with regular practice / jam sessions to develop the pieces of music to high standard. Gigging would not be a primary aim, although it is something that could be worked on in the future, if sufficient progress is made!
