Bassist to join or form band - funk, soul, disco, pop

Bassist here, 48, very experienced, but utterly bored senseless with the same old pub rock. If I see another rendition of Brightside or Sex on Fire I might just impale myself on my mic stand.
I can play a bit of guitar and sing BVs, but only if the bassline isn't too complicated! 🤣
I'd like to get together a group of people to play some upbeat pop, soul, funk, disco tunes. There's a huge catalogue to choose from over the last 60 years, but a mix of old and new would be great. For me, well known stuff would be great with a view towards maybe getting some gigs on the go? Only one or two a month, I don't want to endlessly do the sweaty Devon pub circuit.
Looking for drums, guitar, vocals, keys, samples and drum machine, DJ, brass, strings...basically anything that you think might work.
Would like to get the fun back into playing and rehearsing. Even if you don't have band experience, if you think you can play the songs and have ideas then get in touch!
Torbay or Exeter area would be ideal.
