New sludge/doom band - seeking drummer and guitarist
I'm a guitarist and vocalist in my mid-30s with over 20 years of gigging and playing experience. I've played festivals, released albums, EPs, and more. Now, I'm looking to start a new band. I currently have a bassist lined up, but am looking for a drummer and guitarist.
I'm currently working on a new record that's mostly sludge/doom, but with a more melodic approach, both in the guitar work and vocals. Imagine the clean vocals of Al Cisneros or the band Hum, combined with harsh guttural vocals and heavy, low-tuned riffs reminiscent of bands like Monolord and Crowbar. That's the kind of sound I'm going for. I've started demoing some tracks and can send them over if you're interested!
I'm looking for:
+ Drummer
+ Guitarist
Ideally, you have your own transport and can travel to jam sessions in either Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire or Bedfordshire (to be determined). I'm open to any age, but preferably you are 25+ and can make and stick with decisions.
If you're curious about my previous work, check out my band Everest Queen (everestqueen.bandcamp.com). I also have an ambient project called SKYTOWER (skytower.bandcamp.com)
Please reach out if:
+ You're a drummer or guitarist who loves the idea of playing sludge, doom with a slightly melodic twist.
+ You live near and can travel to rehearsal studios in either Stevenage, Shefford, Peterborough, or Cambridge (location of regular rehearsal space to be determined).
+ You have your own transport.
+ You can financially contribute to rehearsals, recordings, etc.
+ You have a decent understanding of composition and music theory.
Please don't reach out if:
+ You want to start a sludge/doom copycat band (there are already too many Electric Wizard sound-alikes).
+ You're primarily focused on making money. For me, this is about the music, not the money.
+ Drummers: if you don't have a drum kit, please don't apply (sorry).
So, if you like the sound of the above, let's connect!
