Acoustic Guitarist seeking Lead Vocalist for Duo/Trio
Hi, I’m a mature experienced guitarist seeking an experienced lead vocalist to form an acoustic duo, maybe trio( I have a friend who may be interested in playing cajon) playing covers.
Looking to gig occasionally at open mics to start but then get gigs at places like summer pub beer gardens/wine bars/pubs/parties etc etc..anywhere good really..
Gigging maybe 5 to 10 times a year. Maybe more..Depends how it goes.
Would probably practice fortnightly..? and move forward to a gigging set. Maybe practicing alternatively round each others’ houses to save money on practice rooms..🤔
I can practice daytimes/eves/weekends.
I play quite a varied set covering a lot of genres, although not really looking to play folk or much country on this occasion.
Just by way of an idea of the sort of songs I’ve been playing over the last year or so..
Losing My Religion-REM
One-U2
Dock of the Bay-Otis Reading
To Love Somebody-Hee Bee Gee Bees
Times like These-Foos (have done a slowed down finger picking arrangement of this)
You Do Something To Me-Paul Weller
Route 66-Various
Crossroads-Cream (..again,a slowed down arrangement)
Have You Ever Seen The Rain-CCR
I Won’t Back Down-Tom Petty
I Know It’s Only Rock n Roll-Stones
Come Together-Beatles
Radar Love-Golden Earring
One Way or Another-Blondie
Alright Now-Free
Little by Little-Oasis
Bad Moon Rising-CCR
Heavens Door-Bob Dylan
Wonderful Tonight-Eric Clapton
Horse With No Name-America
Tequila Sunrise-Eagles (like pretty much all Eagles’ songs..)
The River-Bruce Springsteen
One I Love-REM
Maggie May-Roddy
We Are The People-Empire of the Sun
Coz I Luv You-Slade
Is This Love-Whitesnake
Others on the backburner..
Wishing on a Star/Wild Wood-Paul Weller
Just What I Needed-Cars
Chance-Big Country
That’s Entertainment-The Jam
Bad Company/Feel Like Making Love/Seagull-Bad Company
Such A Night-Elvis
Wishing Well-Free
You-Ten Sharp
Can’t You See-Marshall Tucker Band
Etc, Etc,..
As you can see, quite a cross section.
The songs I tend to play are more ‘blokey’ songs rather than songs sung by female singers, so this project may be best suited to a male singer. But you never know..😁
Would like to incorporate a fair few of those songs, but more than happy to look at new songs a prospective singer might want to bring in.
Always happy to look at/learn new songs.
By & large, looking to keep the songs in their original keys if possible.
Although I like a laugh I’m also serious about the music and looking for someone likeminded. Someone reliable who will put the effort in.
I’ve got good acoustic equipment and the singer would need to bring in PA.
I also play electric guitar to a high standard (have been in many bands and also in a gigging band atm) so may be able to incorporate that somehow.
Primarily though, this is an acoustic set up.
I live North Essex and fine to travel.
If of interest please PM me.
Thanks!
