Hi, I'm a 50 something experienced Lead Vocalist & songwriter (also play some rough, 'punk DIY style' rhythm guitar & percussion - but I've primarily focused on the frontman role for the last 16 years or so on & off) seeking to join or form an absolute beast of a butt kicking metal band - and creating something immense, brutal, loud, hard, often fast but also melodic in places - in the general Glasgow, Inverclyde, West Dunbartonshire or Helensburgh & Lomond areas. Mainly doing original songs plus a few covers, and very much wanting to go full time pro (and hoping I'm not the only one!). I moved to Helensburgh just over 3 years ago from Manchester, where I played in several bands; regularly gigging on the local pub & club circuits, and also playing some bigger rally & festival venues.

My musical tastes are very wide ranging - consisting of primarily metal (of all kinds - from hard classic through thrash, hardcore / metalcore etc.; also nu / rap; industrial, electronic & experimental, and some goth, symphonic / hard melodic & folk); also punk (mainly Sex Pistols, Ramones, The [early] Damned and some of the harder, faster 80s stuff that laid the ground for thrash metal), punk-metal-rockabilly, and some occasional 'punked up / metalled up' elements of ska & reggae.

I'd be particularly interested in creating a crossover project that fuses several of these influences ... let's just say I get bored easily - and it would appeal to my penchant for snarling, rebellious, meaningful & punk influenced lyrics that ain't scared to have a pop at the state of the world (and my habit of sticking two fingers up at 'The Rule Book). Basically I want to combine the musicianship, showmanship & professionalism of the big metal bands with the down to earth attitude & conscience of the punk and folk rock bands, with a few 'curveballs' thrown in here and there to keep things interesting & unpredictable - bit like Motorhead did! Safe to say then I try to keep my mind as wide as my preferences, and I'm open to various ideas, suggestions, styles & possible directions.

I have a naturally deep voice - bass / baritone (never was into or understood why so many male metal vocalists seem to feel the need to sound like they've been kicked in the spuds), that's also quite growly on higher notes - and so would particularly suit some of the genres mentioned. Seeking talented, able musicians with the appropriate instruments & kit who actually want to go the distance, seek a contract, and refuse to give up on their dreams & ambitions regardless of age (on which subject, 30 plus would be great so I don't end up feeling too much like 'the band Daddy', but not an absolute requirement - commitment, talent & stage experience, or the willingness to gain it, are the main thing ... any gender, ethnicity or background are similarly welcome).

I have live stage & recording experience, a high level of writing ability, the confidence to give it some banter with the audience, a good understanding of the need for stage presence & putting on a good show, and around 2 albums worth of potential songs written - which could obviously be stretched further with input from other band members (as well as some uniquely unorthodox methods for creating tunes that seem to either fascinate or infuriate people - but that always seemed to work well in the past). I also have a car so travelling & giving lifts is no problem (bear in mind it's only a Focus though, probably wouldn't handle Marshall cabs) - I now just need the right crew to cobble the monster together, zap it with lightning and bring it to life!

Anyone interested, drop me a message on here then I'll send you further contact details. Cheers.
