Vocalist & Bassist Seek to Form Punk Influenced Metal Ba
Hi,
Mature, experienced Lead Vocalist (myself) and Bassist / Vocalist seeking a Drummer, Lead Guitarist & Rhythm Guitarist, to form a rough, raw & dirty punk influenced rock / metal band in the Greater Glasgow, Inverclyde, Dumbarton, Helensburgh & Lomond area (I'm from Helensburgh, Bassist from Glasgow). Playing mostly originals and a few covers ... and seriously looking to go pro and seek a recording deal / contract.
We're both experienced (both the wrong side of 50, but utterly refusing grow up or old - or to stop doing what we love) with numerous bands behind us, experience of gigging on local circuits and also playing some bigger rally & festival venues. Wanting to create something that is loud, raw, fast & powerful but with good tunes, memorable choruses etc. and the odd occasional experimental foray into different sounds (e.g. Hawkwind style sound effects & symphonic influences - just for the odd track to keep it interesting) ... that combines old school & new influences, and fuses the professionalism, musicianship & showmanship of metal with the attitude & social conscience of punk (especially in the lyrics - i.e. the epitome of the term "rock 'n' roll rebellion").
As a rough idea, imagine mixing Motorhead, early Metallica, Airbourne, Volbeat & The Cult with The Ramones, MC5, Sex Pistols, GBH & Anti-Nowhere League; then topping off with the occasional sprinkling of Epica, Majestica, Sabaton and the like. Add to that vocals with a naturally deep voice (bass / baritone) & a gruff growl on higher notes, and a bassist who blasts out Lemmy style hard, downtuned overdriven lines ... with the intention of razor sharp lead guitar, hard chugging rhythm riffs - and whatever experimental noises can be practically made. Who knows, it could just be mad enough and different enough to work and become a success.
So looking for experienced musicians with the appropriate kit & equipment (and presumably the attention span to have read this whole ad ... 'is this a test' I hear you say!!), who want to commit, seek to go pro and refuse to give up on their dreams because of age, circumstances, day jobs or any of the usual excuses (being comfortable with backing vocals also preferred, and any who can also do the odd bit of keyboards / effects particularly welcome). We both have the songwriting & recording experience, stage experience, the understanding of stage presence and the importance of putting on a good show, the confidence to stand in front of a big audience and give it some banter - and the image & attitude. We just need others to do the same and bring the beast to life!
