AGEING BASSIST
Average bassist who has played in various pub bands but feels he is getting too old and bored with the same old same old and finds the commitment interferes with family life. Of course I miss the buzz of an audience but it's also that of playing with others - that indefinable feeling when it comes together perfectly. I had a great time during lockdown remotely recording people I never met and I desperately try and write songs, but get nowhere other than pretty chord sequences - I struggle most with finding 'subject matter' and lyrics and slip into 'blues jam mode' much of the time. I play some guitar, have access to drummers and guitarist for recording but really need a regular get together with people in the same position. Anyone else looking for a career move ?
