Forming an originals band in London (20-29)

Funk
Indie
Metal
Pop
Punk
Reggae
Rock
Ska

Hey everyone,

I am a guitarist in my early 20s based in South London, looking to form an originals band.

Rehearsing once a fortnight, gigging and recording are my intent. I want us to go as far as we can with this music thing.

I like a variety of genres: ska, reggae, indie rock, funk rock, indie pop/ bedroom pop, etc

some of my influences are:

RHCP, Sublime, Arctic Monkeys, Sticky Fingers, 311, Weezer, The Kooks, Foster the people, Green Day, Jimi Hendrix, Foo Fighters, The strokes, Mac Demarco, vacations, boy pablo, alabama shakes, phum viphruit, postelles, Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer, Daft Punk, Wayne Wonder, Eminem, covet, condor44, Vacations,

I JUST ENJOY MUSIC IN GENERAL, this list is *not* exhaustive : - )

But right now I am super into the sounds of condor44, vacations and sticky fingers. Awesome bands.

I haven't got a particular sound in mind, but I am mainly looking to jam some stuff out and go from there. I don't want to waste anyone's time so I'll say from the jump I am not into playing super heavy stuff or punk, or metal. I just want to create music you can sit and jam to and have it take you on a journey.

I stopped playing guitar before lockdown and I am getting back into the swing of things... so I am still a little rusty but I would like to work with intermediate level musicians.

I am dedicated to improving on my instrument and being the best I have ever been. Since first posting this ad there are now some potential candidates for this project and they are on the same mission too. We are all following some kind of curriculum to improve together (not music school, don't worry haha). If this seems up your alley, do get in contact.

I have been in a few bands before as a lead guitarist, but besides some school performances, I haven't gigged or done any recordings (apart from a few terrible soundcloud recordings from my school days) XD.

But I am taking my first steps in learning proper mixing and mastering techniques.

My overall goal is to work with a band long-term to make good music, record good music and play good music at gigs.

I want to work with musicians that I can grow and learn with.

If you are an intermediate level musician looking to join a band, get some songs together and take your playing from your bedroom to a stage, please get in touch!

As I am an adult, I have a job and work weekdays. Rehearsing on weekends is probably best, but also open to arranging evenings where possible.

Thanks for taking the time to read my ad
