Keys and Guitar required for Instrumental Progressive Metal
Setting up an interesting instrumental progressive metal band that blends elements of math rock, psychadelia, sludge, djent and all sorts of random bollocks to create a new and interesting vibe. We're holding off on writing until the band is assembled as we want everyone to feel equally a part of the unit, and expect everyone to contribute.
We're not looking to just have wanky guitar and keyboard solos that are typical of this genre, and instead aiming to create interesting textures and rhythms that pay off well into tasteful riffs and melodies. Main inspirations are bands like three trapped tigers, meshuggah, animals as leaders, and so I watch you from afar, tricot... basically if you've ever been (or wanted to go) to arctangent then you'll understand what sort of ridiculousness we're aiming for.
We currently have a guitarist that will also play some keys, a bassist and a drummer and we're raring to get going. Most likely rehearsing in wakefield as we have a room we can use that will save us a lot of money in the long run, but it may end up being more economical to rehearse in Leeds instead, in which case we'll look at renting a room so we can avoid high rehearsal space costs.
Age wise we're late twenties to mid thirties, so old enough to groan everytime we stand up but young enough to tour.
Peace out x
