Experienced Guitarist Looking to Form 90s/00s Punk Rock/Pop
Hi there! I'm a 37-year-old guitarist looking to start a fun, energetic punk rock/pop band focusing mainly on covers from the 90s, 00s, and 10s. I'm thinking of a setlist with classics from bands like Green Day, Sum 41, Blink-182, Bowling for Soup, Goldfinger, and all those nostalgic bangers we grew up on!
I'm starting from scratch, so I'm on the lookout for drums, bass, vocals, and likely another guitarist to complete the lineup. I've been playing and gigging for over 20 years and have all the gear needed, so I'm ready to go. Ideally, you'll have a bit of experience and be keen to learn, but I'm not expecting professionalsjust people who love this music and want to have a good time.
I'm also planning to throw in some iconic pop songs reimagined in a punk rock style. I've got a few ready, like "Jolene," "Sweet Caroline," and "Hey Jude," with lots more ideas lined up. These won't be straight covers; they'll be high-energy versions that keep the recognizable hooks while giving them a fresh, punk twist. Think along the lines of Punk Rock Factory or Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.
The first step is to get a few folks together for some casual jams and see where it goes. Ideally, we'd build up to weekly rehearsals based around Milton Keynes or Northampton, aiming to gig once or twice a month in the local area.
If this sounds like your kind of project, drop me a message! Let's have some fun and make some noise.
