Wanting to improve as a performer

I currently play bass in a band. Did our first performance back in December. It's the first real show I've done and would like to further improve my abilities in that department. I've played guitar since 19 (currently 35 )and bass just over a year. I'm looking to jam and maybe perform with other musician's and or bands if they need a fill in bass player. In terms of bass. I'm not the most technical, but I can lock into a drummer pretty good and open to learning new styles.
