Prog metal guitarist looking to form a band
I'm a guitarist in my 20s and I've been dabbling in writing here and there over the years. I live and breath progressive metal. I like my music heavy, melodic and technical. I'm not afraid to experiment with odd time signatures, tempo shifts and key changes, that just makes it more fun. I have a wide range of riffs and short arrangements that I want to really bring to life, and I'm more than happy to share those with anyone who's interested. But writing complete songs isn't something I can do alone.
I'm not looking to join an existing band, but rather, to start something from scratch and build from the bottom up. I play 7-string Drop A and my influences mainly stem from artists like Born Of Osiris, Make Them Suffer, Veil Of Maya etc. I intend to strongly embrace the sound of 'modern' metal.
Ideally looking for a bassist/drummer who'd be down to experiment with that sort of technical sound. Also open to adding another guitarist to the mix.
For now I just want to jam with people and write cool music, and then potentially move onto gigging and maybe recording and releasing tunes in the future.
