Bassist Available
I am a 50+ bass player looking to join an established covers band or a new band/musicians with similar musical tastes writing their own material. Happy to consider regular gigging bands or simply playing for fun if the music is great and see where it goes from there.
I have played in many bands since my mid-teens, including original material, covers bands and pub/function duos. I can also scrape by with a bit of rhythm guitar and possibly some backing vocals (depending on key!).
Ideally, I'm looking to play up-tempo new wave, post punk, power pop, alt/indie from the late 70s to late 80s. eg The Jam, Buzzcocks, Skids, Big Country, The Cure (early pre1983), New Model Army, XTC, Chameleons, Sisters Of Mercy, Kinks, Pixies, SLF, REM, and obscure mid 80s indie bands on the Peel Show
Also happy to play some Post 1990 bands too, Bloc Party, Killers, Garbage, Kings Of Leon, Foo Fighters, Franz Ferdinand, Stereophonics, Green Day
My bass influences, JJB, Foxton, Graham Mabey, Stuart Morrow, Phil Lynott, Lemmy, John Entwistle
I'm not interested in Thrash/Death Metal, Disco, Funk, EDM, Prog Rock, AOR, Country or Americana. Definitely not interested in anything by The Beatles, The Eagles, Pink Floyd, Stuck In The Middle With You, Brown Eyed Girl, Ed Sheeran or Fleetwood Mac.
I have good pro gear, bass rig, small PA, and own transport. I also have a small home studio so can learn songs quickly, swap music files, mix, record sessions etc.
Not looking to travel for rehearsals outside of Glasgow/Central West Of Scotland.
If you want more info, just message back. It would be helpful if you could include some background on your band, your current set list (if you have one), or an idea of songs you want to play. By all means send me links to your music/videos etc.
Look forward to hearing from you.
