Jazz bass guitarist available

I'm a "senior" bass player moving into jazz. I'm on a course at Leeds Conservatoire and looking for a gig where I can put what I learn into practice and hone my chops, whilst being tolerated if I miss the occasional #11. I'm not a total tyro - I've played live in rock and folk genres for over 25 years, so I've got the basics. I can navigate a lead sheet, but not a fluent reader (yet) and no, I can't do double bass. Retired from the day job so pretty flexible time-wise. Own, decent, gear and transport.
